  1. Rules of publication

The editorial staff of “Family Forum” accepts for evaluation and publication only original scientific articles as well as reviews and reports from conferences concerning marriage and family issues.

In the “Family Forum” magazine the publication of the articles is free of charge.

  1. The review procedure

The editorial staff of “Family Forum” magazine conducts the procedure of reviewing the scientific articles in accordance with “The basic rules of reviewing publications in journals” posted on the website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. This means that the review process is confidential, i.e. the author(s) and the reviewers do not know their identities (the so-called double-blind procedure).
Any criticism by the reviewer(s) requires a detailed response from the author(s) of the article.
The correspondence between the author(s) and the reviewers is done through the “Family Forum” editorial office.
All accepted comments should be included in the revision of the work.
Clear and unambigUBus reasoning is required in the case of disputable comments, indicating the reasons why the author does not comply with the reviewer’s opinion.

The article can only be submitted for printing in the case of two clearly positive reviews. In the case of one negative and one positive review, the Editorial Staff appoints the third reviewer whose assessment decides whether or not to print the text.

Texts which are not of a scientific nature (reviews, reports, interviews or descriptions of events) do not need to be reviewed and are eligible for printing directly by the Editorial Staff.

  1. Comments on the preparation of the text

Scientific articles:

The texts should concern the broadly defined issues of marriage and family, especially connected with the subject of the edition.

The size of the text: from 40 000 to 51 000 characters (including spaces, footnotes

and bibliography). Exceptions to this rule must be individually agreed with the Editorial Staff.

Publication in English, German and Polish is permitted.

The text should include mid-titles.

The sequence of the elements in the article:

  • the title of the article in the original language. The title should be short and indicate precisely what the article is about. It is good to include at least part of the keywords and proper nouns in the title;
  • the title of the article in English;
  • the abstract in English (it could also be in Polish or German but it will only be posted on the article’s website and sent to databases). The abstract should present the content of the article in as few words as possible. It should necessarily explain:

1)  background;

2)  objectives;

3)  methodology;

4)  results;

5)  conclusions.

  • English keywords;
  • the main text. Keywords or synonyms should consistently appear in the text;
  • the annex bibliography from the article must be defined by the English word

The Editorial Staff requires exactly such an arrangement of the elements of the article  and in  case of any deficiencies, the text will not be accepted for reviewing.

The bibliographic notation

The Editorial Staff of “Family Forum” magazine requires using “Harvard reference format 1” system when qUBting publications. The editors also recommend the use of bibliography management software such as Zotero, Mendeley or End Note. We suggest using Zotero manager as it has two important advantages: a) it works on serious operating systems (Windows, Mc OS, Linux); b) it is free.

There is information on how to download and install the free bibliography manager; how to integrate it with a text editor and a web browser. Additionally, there is information on where to download the bibliography data about publications and how to process such information.

If P.T. Authors decide to use the bibliography manager (or have been using such software for some time), please download the “Harvard reference format 1” qUBting style. It can be downloaded from the text editor icon with a gear wheel – (Set Document Preferences)/Zarządzaj stylami (manage styles)/Pobierz dodatkowe style(download additional styles)/ in “Style Search” please write Harvard and choose “Harvard reference format 1” .
